Armitage (Eleonora)

English botanist who collected plants, especially mosses and liverworts, on Madeira in early 1909 and published several papers on Madeiran bryophytes and cultivation.

English botanist who collected plants on Madeira in early 1909. She made a collection of mosses, which was studied by H. N. Dixon, and wrote the following works: Some Madeira Hepaticae (Journ. of Botany, 1910); Intensive Cultivation in Madeira (Journ. of Royal Hortic. Soc., 1910); and On the Habitats and frequencies of some Madeira Bryophytes (Journ. of Ecology, VI, 1918).
