Areusco
Areusco is the Porto Santo name for poor soil of calcareous sand mixed with some clay, generally used only for growing rye.
The name given on Porto Santo to poor land of calcareous sand, partly mixed with more or less clayey soil. The more demanding crops grow in it only with difficulty, and so it is usually used only for growing rye.
