Frei Afonso da Ilha was a Madeiran Franciscan friar and writer whose book Tesouro da Virtude (1543) was translated into Italian.
Under this name there was a religious of the Franciscan order, a native of this island, who was a writer esteemed in his day. In 1543 he published a book entitled Tesouro da Virtude, which was translated into Italian.
