Ceuta

Spain · Africa

Ceuta is a fortress city in North Africa that was conquered in 1415 with the participation of the Order of Christ. The Elucidário records that João Gonçalves Zarco fought and was knighted there, and that members of the Câmara family fought in its defence when it was besieged. It was also the see of Nuno de Aguiar.
