Dr João de Freitas da Silva (b. 1842, Lisbon) was a physician-surgeon with a Montpellier MD (1863) and the 1st Viscount of Monte Belo. He was chief health officer of the port of Funchal, director of the Gonçalo Aires lazaretto and a member of the Junta Geral. He died in Funchal in 1922.
