Francisco Ferreira de Abreu

Madeiran official and liberal, orphans' judge of the Machico captaincy in 1828, who was exiled under D. Miguel's regime and later held notarial and administrative posts, including secretary of the Junta Geral in 1837. He was first secretary of the Sociedade Funchalense dos Amigos das Ciências e Artes, translated Blanqui and Cuvier, and died in Cabo Verde in 1842.
