Acúrsio Garcia Ramos

Azorean-born military physician and interim professor at the Funchal Medical-Surgical School. He wrote an 1874 study of the hygiene of the Hospital de Santa Isabel and the book 'Ilha da Madeira' (1879–80). He was imprisoned in 1874 on political charges that were later found groundless.
