Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) / Alecrim (Rosmarinus officinalis)

Shrub of the Labiatae family, widely cultivated in the gardens of Madeira. It is very aromatic, and the infusion of its leaves is widely used in baths and poultices, and can also be used internally to combat nausea, coughs, and chlorosis. Among the poor, it is customary to burn rosemary branches to benefit the air in homes.
