Escalracho (Andropogon halepensis)

A perennial grass, 3-15 decimeters tall, with spikelets gathered in a wide, pyramidal panicle, usually violet. This plant is considered harmful and even poisonous to livestock before its complete maturation. It is possible that while young, it contains some prussic acid.
