White (Roberto)

Robert White was an Englishman who lived in Madeira and wrote 'Madeira, its climate and scenery' (1851). He also made meteorological observations in Funchal and Machico.

English subject who lived for some years in Madeira and who in 1851 wrote an interesting and valuable work entitled Madeira, its climate and scenery. In 1850 and 1851 he made meteorological observations in Funchal and Machico.

In 1857, during White’s lifetime, a second edition of his work appeared, edited and enlarged by James Yate Johnson (see that entry).
