Webb (Felipe Baker)

Philip Barker Webb, English botanist of the Canaries flora, who spent months in Madeira in 1828.

Distinguished English botanist, well known for his studies of the flora of the Canary Islands. He was born in Milford in 1793 and died in 1853. In 1828 he was in Madeira, where he stayed for some months to study the flora of this island. He also visited Porto Santo (‘holy harbour’).
