A short-lived Funchal society founded in 1858 to promote theatrical performances, with its own small theatre.
Its purpose was to promote theatrical performances, and in 1858 it set itself up in a building on Largo do Pelourinho (‘pillory’). The sergeants of the 16th Infantry gave a performance in a small theatre belonging to the society on 23 December 1858. The Tália society seems to have lasted only a few years.
