Cândido Joaquim da Silva, known locally as Dr. Silvado, was a Funchal-born physician who took his doctorate at Montpellier in 1830.

He was born in Funchal in 1806 and took his doctorate in medicine at the Montpellier faculty in 1830. Works: Considérations générales sur la syphilis (thesis). He died of a cerebral apoplexy on 8 February 1879. Here in Madeira he was known as Dr Silvado.
