D. Manuel Saldanha da Gama Melo e Torres served twice as Civil Governor of Madeira, appointed in 1890 and again in 1893.
Dom Manuel Saldanha da Gama Melo e Torres was appointed Civil Governor of Madeira by decree of 12 June 1890, and took office on the 25th of that month.
By decree of 6 April 1893 he was appointed Civil Governor of this district for a second time, taking office on the 23rd of that month.
