Rodrigues (Rodrigo)
Azorean scholar who promoted the publication of Books III and IV of Gaspar Frutuoso's Saudades da Terra and wrote Frutuoso's biography; he briefly served as finance inspector in the Funchal district in 1921.
This distinguished Azorean, one of the promoters of the publication of Books III and IV of ‘Longing for the Homeland’ (Saudades da Terra) and the author of the excellent biography of Gaspar Frutuoso that accompanies the first of those books, held the post of finance inspector in the district of Funchal, though he stayed only a very short time on this island.
The first payroll on which his name appears dates from October 1921, but no termo (formal record) conferring on him possession of that post was ever drawn up at the tax office.
