Short-lived municipal office in Funchal, held apparently only by Januário Cardoso de Melo from 1834, and renamed administrador do concelho in 1835.
F. Januário Cardoso de Melo was the first, and we believe the only, person to hold this office in Funchal. He was appointed by decree of 21 June 1834 and took up the post at the Prefecture building (Paços da Prefeitura) of the Province on 16 August of the same year. In 1835 the superintendents were renamed administrators of the municipality (concelho).
