Pereira da Silva (Manuel)

Madeiran-born infantry officer, knight of the Legion of Honour, who published military addresses.

He was born in Madeira on 5 September 1862 and is an infantry officer; for some time he served in the now-abolished Municipal Guard. He holds the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honour of France. He published his address entitled A preparação para a guerra and another delivered at the ceremony presenting the national flag to the recruits of the 12th and 34th Infantry Regiments of the Guarda Military Command (Comando Militar) (1921).
