Original title: Medalha comemorativa da defesa do Funchal

Law of 1921 entitling soldiers who served in Funchal during the First World War to a campaign medal inscribed 'Funchal-Defesa Marítima 1916-1918'.

Law no. 1123 of 4 March 1921 granted soldiers who served in Funchal during the war the right to wear the commemorative medal of the Campaigns of the Portuguese Army referred to in decree no. 5,086 of 3 January 1919, with the legend ‘Funchal-Defesa Maritima 1916- 1918.’
