Funchal-born physician (1831–1903), Montpellier graduate and long-serving head of Funchal's port health station.
The son of Fortunato Leandro Larica, he was born in Funchal in 1831 and took his doctorate in medicine at the Faculty of Montpellier in 1852. For many years he was chief officer of the Port Health Station (guarda-mor da Estação de Saúde) of Funchal, and he died in this city on 22 May 1903. Works: Apprécier les méthodes opératoires de la fistule vésico-vaginale, thèse présentée et publiquement soutenue à la Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier le 26 Avril 1852 (Montpellier, 1852).
