The rose-apple tree, an Indian member of the myrtle family grown in some Madeiran gardens and quintas for its fragrant fruit; its leaf infusion has been recommended against diabetes.
A tree of the family Myrtaceae, grown in some gardens and quintas in Madeira. It is native to India and bears subglobose, fragrant fruits with a pleasant taste. An infusion of rose-apple leaves has been recommended against diabetes.
