Redshank (Polygonum persicaria), a knotweed abundant in Madeira's pools and damp places.

A member of the knotweed family (Polygonaceae), very abundant in the pools and damp places of Madeira. Its leaves are spotted and its flowers are small, pink and gathered in a cylindrical or elongated spike. The scientific name of this plant is Polygonum Persicaria.
