Henriques
Short genealogical note on the Henriques surname, tracing its main branches to D. João Henriques, to Henrique Alemão and to the Henriques de Noronha of Seville.
This family surname derives from Dom João Henriques, third son of Dom Henrique Henriques, who was royal harbinger (aposentador) and Master of the Hunt to Afonso V, John II and Manuel I. There are other Henriques who descend from Henry the German, and the Henriques de Noronha, who descend from Dom João and Dom Diogo Henriques and from Dom João and Dom Garcia de Noronha, all sons of Dom Garcia Henriques of Seville.
