The enchova or bluefish (Temnodon saltator), a voracious fish of irregular occurrence in Madeira, caught with nets or by trolling.

A fish of the family Carangidae, an irregular visitor to Madeira. It is very voracious and destroys a large proportion of the coastal species. It is caught with nets close to the shore, or with a line, and in the latter case often by the method known as trolling.
