Luiz de Vasconcelos Câmara e Sousa, 3rd Count of Castelo Melhor and 6th Count of Calheta, is reckoned the tenth captain-donatary of Funchal.
Luís de Vasconcelos Câmara e Sousa was the 3rd Count of Castelo Melhor and the 6th Count of Calheta (‘small cove’). He was the son of Dona Mariana de Alencastre e Câmara, who is regarded as the 9th donatary of Funchal and who had married João Rodrigues de Vasconcelos, 2nd Count of Castelo Melhor. Luís de Vasconcelos should be regarded as the 10th captain-donatary (capitão-donatário) of Funchal.
