Bica (Pagellus erythrinus)

The bica (Pagellus erythrinus, common pandora) is a sea bream common in Madeiran markets, caught over rocky bottoms with various gear.

A fish of the family Sparidae with a pleasant flavour, common in the markets of Madeira. It is caught over rocky bottoms or loose stones with gear such as the gorazeira (deep-water longline for sea bream), the briqueira (a Madeiran hand line for bottom fishing) and the drag net.
