Danish geologist who studied the geology of the Madeira archipelago. Works: Resumo das observações geológica feitas em uma viagem ás ilhas da Madeira, Porto Santo e Açores nos annos de 1835 e 1836 (Lisbon, 1837). A second edition of this work was published on the island of São Miguel in 1857.
