Catholic association founded in Funchal in 1874, the third oldest society still existing in the city.
It was founded in 1874. Its statutes were approved by the chief officer of the district by royal decree (alvará) of 10 August 1874 and received the approval of the diocesan ecclesiastical authority by warrant (provisão) of 21 August of the same year. After the Associação Comercial and the Associação de Socorros Mútuos 4 de Setembro de 1862, it is at present the oldest of the societies existing in this city.
