Brief biography of Dr António J. de Santa Marta Andaluz, district secretary-general appointed civil governor of Madeira in 1869.
- (See Mesquita e Melo, 3rd Viscount of.) He was secretary-general of the district when he was appointed civil governor of Madeira by decree of 4 September 1869. He took office on the 18th of the same month and year, but held the post for only a few months. He married on this island a Madeiran lady, daughter of the Barons of Conceição (‘Conception’), and had been born on 12 April 1833.
