A simple hand-line fishing tackle of hook and line wound on a small board, used mainly for surface fish.
A very simple fishing tackle, usually intended for surface fish or those that swim in mid-water. It consists merely of a line with a hook fixed to its free end, and at the other end a small square board on which the line is wound. It is sometimes used for bottom fish, and a weight is then added near the hook.
