Watercress is a perennial crucifer common in Madeira's streams, levadas and damp places, eaten and valued against scurvy.

A perennial plant of the family Cruciferae, very common in the streams, levadas (irrigation channels) and damp places of Madeira. It is a food plant and an excellent antiscorbutic.
