Funchal-born civil engineer who worked in Angola and then held posts in Funchal, including director of the industrial school from 1903 and of the Liga das Levadas. He wrote reports on Madeiran crafts and industries, such as embroidery, wickerwork and inlay, and a book of verse; he died in Funchal in 1928.
