Dr S. Fischer was a scientist who described eight species of Madeiran entomostracans (small crustaceans) in the Transactions of the Royal Bavarian Academy of Sciences in 1855. He served as physician to the Duke of Leuchtenberg during the Duke's stay in Madeira.
