Friar of the Order of Christ among the first priests sent to Madeira at Prince Henry's request to oversee religious services. He was parish priest of Nossa Senhora do Calhau and then of the Sé, received Bishop João Lobo in 1508, and became first dean of Funchal Cathedral in 1514.
