Funchal-born priest and liberal, vicar of São Jorge, who represented Madeira in the Cortes of 1822. His thanksgiving sermon preached in Funchal Cathedral was printed in 1822. He emigrated to Brazil in 1828 to escape Miguelist persecution and died in Rio de Janeiro.
