Funchal physician who was physician of the Hospício da Princesa D. Maria Amélia and director of the asylum from 1907, and who helped found the Trapiche house. He was chiefly responsible for building the A.N.T. sanatorium in Madeira, which was named after him, and he gave unpaid help to the island's weather service. He died in Funchal on 14 June 1942.
