Eighth Count of Vimioso, made Marquess of Valença by João V in 1716, and nominal donatary of Machico; he died in 1749. A note also credits a Francisco de Castro with sermons printed at La Rochelle in 1654 and 1656, one of them preached in Funchal, which cannot be reconciled with his given dates.
