Madeiran priest, canon, vicar-general and dean of Funchal Cathedral, who aided Bishop Cerveira e Sousa against Kalley's Protestant mission and served Empress Amélia as chaplain. A learned writer, he annotated the 1866 edition of the Historia Insulana.
