Priest of Ponta do Pargo who became a canon of Funchal Cathedral in 1899 and deputy for Madeira in the Portuguese parliament in 1905–1907. Some of his parliamentary speeches were published. He was the first provedor of the restored Misericórdia in 1906 and directed its administration until 1910.
