Conselho de Distrito

It was a tribunal composed of the Civil Governor, president, and four members appointed by the Government from a list of three proposed by the General Assembly. It had advisory and contentious powers and was abolished by the Administrative Code of July 17, 1886. The members of the District Council received an annual gratification of 240,000 réis, paid by the District Treasury.
