Clarke (James)

He dealt with the climate of Madeira in his work entitled The Influence of Climate in the prevention and cure of chronic Diseases, more particularly of the Chest and Digestive Organs, London, 20th edition, 1830. Clarke did not visit Madeira, but the English doctors Heineken and Renton provided him with the necessary information and data to write the chapter of the mentioned work dedicated to the climate of this island.
