Cemiterio (Beco do)

It was located where the Rua 5 de Junho is now, and had the alleys of Violetas, Malvas, Alecrim, Papoilas, and Aldeia attached to it. The hovels of the alley and the last four of these alleys began to be demolished in 1887, but the construction of Rua 5 de Junho was only completed in 1892. Both the alley and the mentioned alleys were simple lanes, lined with small unhealthy and unsightly dwellings.
