Needlefish (Belone vulgaris) / Agulha. (Belone vulgaris)

A teleost fish of the suborder of malacopterygians, family Escombridae, which passes through the seas of Madeira. Its body is eel-shaped, and it can reach a length of up to 1 meter.

It is often seen in the company of mackerel and other traveling fish, but it is not a common species in the markets. Its dry and tough flesh does not make it suitable as delicate food.
