Carvalhal e Carreira

A populated place in the parish of Canhas, where the chapel of Santo André Avelino is located, built in 1776 by Carlos Nunes de Freitas da Silva, having belonged to the house of the Lomelino heirs. A few years ago, the following inscription was placed on one of the interior walls of the chapel: 'Offered by Jacinto Fernandes and completed by José dos Reis and the people'. It has 89 households and 378 inhabitants.
