Carocha (Blaps gages)

A coleopteran insect of the Tentiriada family, common in Madeira, Porto Santo, and the Selvagens. It lives in the dark compartments of houses, under stones, and in caves, especially in the lower region of the first two islands.

Often, the term 'carocha' is generally used to refer to certain beetles of a specific shape.
