Caramujo

Situated in the municipality and parish of S. Vicente, at 1325 meters above sea level. It has a shelter house built by the Directorate of Public Works of the District, and is close to the sources of the Ribeira do Inferno aqueduct, which irrigates the parish of S. Vicente. Following this aqueduct to its origin, one can enjoy breathtaking panoramas.

Caramujo, or Chão do Caramujo, is a short distance from the northern edge of Paul da Serra and seems to have been the crater of a volcano. It is a highly visited spot by nationals and foreigners.
