Cana Vieira (Arundo Donax)

A grass with tall, hollow, and woody stems at the nodes, widely cultivated in Madeira and Porto Santo. These stems are used for spindles, fishing rods, supporting climbing plants, and other purposes. The leaves constitute a mediocre forage. It is also called roca cane.
