Câmara (João Rodrigues da)

In volume 11 of Historia Insulana, 1866 edition, page 227 and following, Antonio Cordeiro makes a detailed reference to João Rodrigues da Camara, the eldest son of Rui Gonçalves da Camara, 31st captain-donatary of the island of S. Miguel. João Rodrigues was born in Madeira and accompanied his father to S. Miguel, becoming the 4th captain of this island, in whose lordship he succeeded Rui Gonçalves da Câmara.
