Câmara (D. Marta Celina Sauvayre da)

She belongs to a noble and distinguished Madeiran family, and is the daughter of João Sauvayre da Camara and D. Matilde Lucia de Sant’Ana e Vasconcelos Moniz de Bettencourt, being the granddaughter of the illustrious Madeiran writer, Viscountess das Nogueiras, and the niece of our distinguished compatriot Jacinto de Sant’Ana e Vasconcelos, 21st viscount of the same title, both of whom we will discuss in this Elucidario. D. Marta Celina da Camara was born in Funchal on September 1, 1857, receiving a careful education, much of which was provided by her illustrious grandmother, who was a lady of vast erudition and who wrote an interesting and valuable work titled Dialogues between a grandmother and her granddaughters, which was published in 1862 for the use of her granddaughters. After a long journey through Europe and parts of Asia and Africa, D. Maria Celina wrote a book entitled From Naples to Jerusalem, which was published in Funchal in 1889, in a volume of 196 pages. D. Maria Celina Sauvayre da Câmara passed away in Portugal on February 21, 1929.
