Bisbis (Regulus maderensis)

The smallest of the birds in Madeira and the only one that is peculiar to it. It frequents the heather and laurel woods in the interior and constructs a very artful ovoid-shaped nest made of moss. The laying usually takes place from May to July and can consist of up to 7 eggs of a reddish-brown color, with red spots or marks.
