Barbosa (Rui)

This distinguished Brazilian politician and journalist was in Madeira on December 19, 1907, and was offered a lunch at the Infante Palace Hotel by Mr. Antonio Eusebio dos Santos, then the commercial agent of the United States of Brazil, which was also attended by the politician's wife and children, the Civil Governor, the Secretary General, and the Military Commander. Rui Barbosa left for Brazil on the same day, aboard the Araguaya.
